6 Months

6 Months is a great age.  I think it’s one of my overall favorites.   They hit so many milestones and really start to show their personality.   AJ & Jack have so much fun together now, I love that they can entertain each other for short time periods.  

Today was a fantastic day, the first hint of Fall.  Actually, the first relief from oppressive heat, yippee!!    AJ and I hung out in the backyard all morning then the three of us went for a walk and we topped it off with Jack’s first picnic out back!  Jack ate peaches while AJ & I snacked on cheese & fruit.   AJ was a good big brother and he let me know when Jack started crawling off the blanket and trying to eat grass!

Regression, anyone?  Now that Jack sits in the high chair with the tray, AJ must have the tray on his chair, too. 

This little ball of sweetness hit two milestones on his half birthday!   He has been pushing himself up to a sitting position like this…

…And today he pushed himself up further…

…Ta Da!!!    And all the way up!   My boy can sit up all by himself!!   AJ started sitting up the day AFTER he turned 6 months but I don’t think he was pushing himself up on his own so we are going to call this one a draw.  They will be competing their whole lives, so they will start out with a tie!

And also, he waved at friend today!  I thought it might be a fluke, but he started waving at the camera here, too!  He is starting to smile for the camera.  

Ah, I think it’s time to retire the infant tub…  my boy thinks he’s all grown up now that he’s 1/2 year old.
