Ode to my Garden

This posting is dedicated to my garden which really is a tribute to my mother. She worked so hard to make my garden a beautiful place for our family to enjoy. Here is a peek of what is blooming and showing off now...

PS - I don't care if this is dorky! You can skip it if you aren't into plants. :)

Mexican Feathergrass, Pink Skullcap and Four Nerve Daisy... The front yard, all spiffed up... Yellow Bells are beginning to bloom... Blackfoot Daisy...
If you saw it before, you would understand just how much work it took to get the backyard looking like this. Weeds & leaves had taken over. We also removed a bunch of Persimmon trees and made the grass area a bit bigger. We have had tons of Blue Jays, Mockingbirds & Cardinals in the bird bath this year....
Another angle...

Angel Trumpet is doing much better this year with a little bit more sun due to the trimming of the Oak above it...

My Japanese Aralia has gotten a lot of new growth this year... though the new growth is looking a bit chlorodic?

Dwarf Variegated Ginger seems to be doing better with a bit more sun as well...
Barbados Cherry is covered in buds & blooms!

The Lamb's Ear experiment is proving successful so far. I'm trying it out in mostly shade to see how it does. Some of them drowned in the rains we had last summer but the shade doesn't seem to bother them, I'm even getting blooms!

Shrimp Plant didn't freeze back this winter so it's been blooming all spring...
One last look at our little oasis...
