Jack is ONE!

I am so excited my baby had his first birthday on March 27th!  He is growing up so fast and I love getting to know his emerging little personality.  He has started taking 3 or 4 steps and I know he will be walking within the month.  He gets this hugely proud smile whenever he walks and I know he loves it!
Another sign he’s growing up?  He is now exclusively drinking whole milk from sippy cups!  He was pretty mad at me at first, but now I think realizes he is more independent and likes it.
We went for a one-year appt with Dr. Halpin and everything checks out okay!  He is just under 50% for height and weight.  I was told to not pick him up immediately every single time he cries to me because he needs to learn patience and to use his words.   This was hugely freeing to me since Jack is VERY attached to me and loves his spot on my left hip.  Maybe that’s why he is also taking a bigger interest in walking!  He loves to walk and push our little “kid” chairs all over the house.  So much for that walker I bought!

Jack is jabbering up a storm!  “na na” (banana), “han hu” (Thank you), DaDa, MaMa, AJ, “dickle” (tickle), “huh huh” (woof woof)…  those are the ones I can think of now.

He is also blowing kisses, waving bye bye, standing for a few seconds, pointing at things he wants, clapping, and he LOVES to wrestle!   He will sneak up on AJ and attack him then just roll over and laugh.  We call him “roly poly Jack” when he does this.  He loves rolling in pillows.  He loves soft things and is a great snuggler and hugger.  He sleeps with his “Beary Bear” every night, when we put him in his crib he rolls right over and grabs him and then snuggles under his soft quilt.  He loves to laugh and thinks big brother is hilarious.  He really enjoys being outside and always points at birds and squirrels!

We are so glad to have him in our lives.  He is a true blessing.  Happy Birthday, Jack.
