Ah, the blueberry farm. Such a wonderful idea in theory. My parents and I happily loaded up the kids at headed to Moorehead Farm for some picking and a picnic. We met my friend Lisa and her girls there.
We arrived about 9:30 and here we are hiking to the ripe berry bushes…
AJ was a great little picker…
But then he decided he would rather just eat blueberries! Fine by me, it kept him entertained. Until all those blueberries came out the back end!
We managed to find the only shady spot at the farm. But it was still HOT! AJ standing with his girlfriends Caroline & Catherine. The kids got so hot that poor little Caroline FAINTED when we got back to the concession stand!
Here are the girls enjoying an icee after getting Caroline cooled off. Whew, that gave us a scare!
I dumped cold water all over AJ to prevent more fainting and he dumped icee all over his shirt. Good thing they were both red! Another good reason to put your kids in red at the farm… I could spot him easily through the blueberry bushes!
We probably won’t ever do this again, but it’s definitely an experience we will NEVER forget!! :) My Mom thinks this was payback for all the adventures she dragged us on as kids! Like Mother like daughter I guess.
